Specialized Pavement Marking LLC (SPM) has served our customers since 1997, and today is a proud operating partner of Frontline Road Safety, a national leader in the pavement marking industry.

History
Our expansion into multiple states has been driven in large part by the strategic acquisition of some of the pavement marking industry’s most well-known and highly respected companies. These acquisitions have not only strengthened our geographic presence but have also brought valuable expertise, favorable local acclaim, and decades of experience under our umbrella.
Merging with AAL
Merging with AAL in 2021 was the first step expanding our foothold in the Striping Industry to best serve AAL and SPM’s customers.
Incorporated in 1984 with a commitment to safety, quality and customer service, Apply-A-Line was able to complete projects on time and on budget. AAL’s vast experience in public works & commercial projects as well as it’s qualified personnel and resources allowed AAL to provide all pavement-marking needs.
2024 was Specialized Pavement Marking’s biggest year for growth expanding both our Washington and California markets with 3 different acquisitions.
Acquired in January 2024, Safety Striping Service was a multi-generational family owned company that was founded in 1950. At the time of the SPM/Frontline acquisition, it was the oldest active striping Contractor in the State of California. From humble roots performing maintenance contracts in Santa Barbara County, Safety Striping opened it’s Tulare County corporate office in 1953 and grew into one of the premiere pavement marking Contractors in Central California. Always prioritizing strong trade association partnerships, Safety Striping earned a strong reputation across California (and the nation) as one of the very best in the business.
Acquired in April 2024, Stripe Rite started in 1984 as a small business venture with a few people and a couple of trucks in Auburn, WA. The focus at the time was on installing extruded curb and painting parking lots. Over the years the company grew dramatically and added services such as road striping/pavement markings, line removal, crack fill/sealcoat, reflective markers, traffic control and signage. In an ever-changing market, Stripe Rite remained true to its roots and provided quality work and excellent service no matter what the job. Stripe Rite employees were dedicated and trustworthy professionals motivated to provide the highest level of quality and integrity as an industry leader. Stripe Rite expanded its geographic service coverage to include Washington State, Northern Idaho, and Northeast Oregon.
Acquired in October 2024, What started as a small painting outfit in the early 80’s, Sterndahl Enterprises evolved over 40 years to be one of the leading striping contractors in Southern California. From painting the athletic fields for the 1984 Olympics, to being the City of Los Angeles’ go-to maintenance provider for the past 30 years, SEI has always taken pride in providing the best customer service. No matter the scale of project SEI delivered highly trained crews to efficiently provide the best product possible, not only exceeding customers’ expectations but also ensuring the safety of all roadway travelers.
